Introducing 'Mum'

It was a calm winters day and the waters of the South Pacific Ocean were warm and welcoming, just like a mother's hug.

We had some incredible encounters on that day. One of the most memorable ones was this mother and baby humpback whale who swam with us (or we swam with them!!!)

This mother and calf twirled around us in tandem for a while, and then when the time came and they’d had enough of us humans, they slowly made their way into the deep blue.

Luckily, I was able to photograph them one last time before they totally disappeared.

Swimming with whales is a one-of-a-kind adventure. They move around like a calm wind, yet they’re huge like a mack truck! I suppose that’s why they’re called gentle giants.

I truly can not wait to travel again, to bring and share with you more photos of these large creatures, as well as others of course!

Well, this photo will suffice for now.

I actually have some more photos from this trip yet to process, I promise I’ll share one with you soon!
