This image is called 'Serenity' and was captured in a helicopter flying above the Great Barrier Reef, just off the Whitsunday Coast. I love how this image evokes peace and, well, serenity!
For those interested in the nitty gritty's, this image captures Hook Reef and Hardy Reef, split down the middle by the channel, or reef river we like to call it!
Aerial images are pre-visualised to an extent, but you never really know what you're going to get until you're out there, which in this case is a 30min heli ride across the Coral Sea.
Wind can change, glass out becomes white caps, clouds can hover in, and both can make or break a shot!
All of these challenges are what make these images even more rewarding, especially when they are turned into print.
This image has all the elements we dream of, fluffy clouds, soft reflections and silky water. Ahhh the Serenity!!!
